Disclaimer: Check with your manufacturer prior to cleaning your oven. Blue ovens CANNOT be cleaned with oven cleaner as the chemical can eat through the finish.
- Gather all necessary protective equipment and turn on the oven exhaust fan.
- Remove the racks. Soak them in a large tub with water, dawn and a cup of borax.
- Spray the inside of the oven with Easy Off Oven Cleaner, avoiding the coils.
- Let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
- Wearing gloves, use a wet pumice stone to work at the grime in the oven. Rinse the stone as needed. If you use a dry pumice stone it can scratch the surface.
- Wipe the grime and cleaner away with a damp rag.
- Once all the grime is away, wipe out the oven again with a new damp rag.
- Dry oven with a dry rag or towel.
- Wipe grime off racks, rinse, dry, and replace in the oven.
Not all ovens or households are created equal. We understand oven cleaner may not be right for you or your oven. Be careful with self-cleaning as it can create toxic gasses in the air.
