Eckler Cleaning Services: Our Pest Control Policy Explained

We are trained in household cleaning, not pest control. Any residence with an active pest issue including but not limited to rodents, cockroaches, bed bugs, fleas, termites, must have the problem resolved before a cleaner can service your house. This is a safety procedure to keep all customers’ homes clean and free from pests.

Not all pests are created equal. Here’s how we handle different pest types. In some cases, we can work with you. We understand fruit flies happen. In other cases, we have serious supply decontamination or replacement costs and will not return to the house.

Flies & Gnats

Is it one fly or many flies? We aren’t concerned about a few.

If there are several flies or gnats, we will attempt to determine the source of the infestation. Is it rotting food? Did something die behind the fridge?

If we can find the infestation point, we will photograph it and attach the photo to the customer’s account. Maggie with reach out to the customer for a game plan.

Maggots

This could be a sign of a larger problem. Eckler Cleaning Services team members are instructed to take a photo, leave the house, and notify Maggie. We will not clean the infested area, and depending on the amount and location, we may not be about to clean the full room. Maggie with reach out to the customer for a game plan.

Mice & Rats

As a pet friendly cleaning company, we understand this can be tricky. After all, cats love mice. Is it one mouse or many? Did we see a live one, a dead one, or feces?

We will not remove dead animals as this is a biohazard and can lead to health or safety risks for the team members. If we see one or more live mouse in a house, or feces, we will notify the client and assist with a game plan. A pest control company may be required to confirm the infestation is gone.

Cockroaches

These are no fun and can be easy to transfer with our supplies. If we find cockroaches in a house, team members will immediately leave the house and notify Maggie. In most cases, all the supplies will need to be disposed of and replaced. We will not return to a house until there is confirmation from a pest control professional that the infestation is gone.

If a client knowingly allows us to enter their home with a cockroach infestation, they will be charged a supply replacement fee.

    Bed Bugs

We have zero tolerance for bed bugs. If they are found in a client’s home while we are cleaning, all supplies will be left at the property and team members will leave immediately. The client will be responsible for a supply replacement fee and we will not return to the house. Replacing all the supplies could cost hundreds of dollars.
