Start your Spring Cleaning out right with this checklist

Spring cleaning is right around the corner! It’s never too early to start, and here are some things we recommend you do each year to have a fresher, cleaner home this year.

Declutter

Begin by going through each room and getting rid of any items you no longer need or use. Donate or sell them if they’re in good condition, or dispose of them responsibly.

Overwhelmed? Start with your clothes closet or your pantries. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Eckler Cleaning has an organizational expert ready to assist

Clean your High Surfaces

Ceiling fans and lights tend to be forgotten. At least once a year, wash with warm water and a mild soap (when in doubt, Dawn it out). While you have the ladder out, clean the tops of door frames and other hard to reach surfaces.

Clean the Carpets

We may have had a mild winter, but that didn’t stop water, dirt, salt, and grime from entering your house. We recommend having your carpets cleaned every spring and fall. Even if you don’t wear shoes in your house, you will be surprised at how much dirt can be locked in the fibers.

Clean Windows and Curtains

The easiest way to brighten up your living space is to wash the windows. This can be DIY or reach out and we can help. We also recommend washing the curtains so they smell nice and fresh. If your home is particularly dusty, you may want to wash your blinds, too.

Deep Clean the Kitchen

Clean your appliances, both inside and out: this can include the refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, coffee pot and more. Move everything off your countertops to get the crumbs that has lost their way to the back. Once a year, we recommend cleaning and decluttering the kitchen drawers, too.

Air vents and Filters

Change your air filter at least twice a year (if not quarterly). Remove the floor and wall vents and wash with mild soap (yes, dawn!) before replacing. Dirty vents blow dirty air through your home. If you need air duct cleaning, we recommend reaching out to Bulldog Home Comfort.

Whether you decide to tackle your spring cleaning on your own or hire Eckler Cleaning, we are always here to answer your questions. Not sure how to do something, send us an email. Started the project but can’t finish, we’ll take care of you! As always, we want you to have a happy, clean home.
